What is Sea moss Gel?

Sea moss gel has become a popular superfood thanks to its potential for wide-ranging health benefits. This versatile gel, made from sea moss (a type of seaweed), is loaded with essential vitamins and minerals, including iodine, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. It's also a source of antioxidants, which can protect your cells from damage.

Some of the purported benefits include improved thyroid function due to its iodine content, boosted immunity, enhanced gut health thanks to its prebiotic fiber, and possible anti-inflammatory effects. While more research is needed to confirm all of its benefits, sea moss gel provides a natural and nutrient-dense way to potentially support your overall health and wellbeing.

How to prepare Sea Moss Gel?

    1. Place desired amount of sea moss in a large bowl, and pour water over it.
    2. Add 2-3 times more water than Sea Moss.
    3. Cover the moss completely
    4. Let the covered Sea Moss sit overnight.
    5. After sitting overnight, rinse at least 3x to remove any left over sand, salt, and the occasional sea shell.
    6. Bring water to boil (2x the amount of water).
    7. Once the water is boiled, turn off the burner and add the rehydrated seamoss. Cover the pot and allow to steep for 45 minutes.
    8. Once steeped, and strained add sea moss to blender. Add the water used to steep it into the blender and blend it all until it is completely liquified.
    9. Place the liquified Pure Jamaican Sea Moss in a glass airtight container and place in the fridge. This will prevent it from spoiling.

The Sea Moss will thicken into a gel like consistency as it cools, which can take several hours.

**If it doesn’t thicken and stays liquified do not discard the seamoss. This happens due to there being more water added to the process than sea moss. You can use it as it is, or simmer it on the stove for 10-15 minutes to allow it to thicken.

Can I just buy the sea moss gel?

This can be too time intensive for many people. That's ok. If making your own sea moss gel is not for you. We have extra potent sea moss gel already made for ou!
